HempWood

Renewable
While traditional oak requires decades to reach maturity for timber harvesting, hemp is ready for harvest in just 120 days. This makes HempWood not just an ecological choice, but a revolution in sustainable construction. And most importantly — it’s 40% stronger than oak.

Eco-Friendly
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are found in most mass-produced materials and pollute the air in your home. HempWood takes a different path — we use soy-based adhesive to minimize emissions. A clean home starts with the materials.

Carbon Neutral
Every acre of hemp absorbs two tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. And production waste isn’t discarded — we use it as a heat source. This closes the loop and reduces our carbon footprint.
How is HempWood made?
Hemp grows from seed to mature crop ready for production in 150 days. It can be cultivated with almost no artificial fertilizers, pesticides, or insecticides. After harvest, it goes to the factory, where a patented manufacturing process separates the fibers lengthwise. The next step is placing the fibers in a vat of organic soy-based adhesive. The fibers are dried, placed in molds, and pressed. They’re heated to 130 degrees, which causes the adhesive to liquefy and penetrate throughout the entire product. Then they’re left to cool, removed from the molds, cut, and packaged by size. Did you know that the manufacturing process produces absolutely zero waste? All residual materials are collected and returned to the production chain. Isn’t that amazing?
